Operation Christmas Child
What: The Samaritan's Purse project Operation Christmas Child collects shoebox gifts filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way.
HIA will be hosting a local, in-person shoebox packaging event! Just bring the gift items to the location below and we'll provide the shoeboxes and tracking labels.

Crayon Sorting Event
What: The Crayon Initiative collects, sorts, melts down, and remanufactures old crayons into bright, clean, paper-free crayons specially shaped for children. For this volunteer event, we'll be sorting crayons into bins by color. This is a fun and easy activity for all ages to get involved in.

Food Bank of Contra Costa-Food Distribution
What: The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano stores and distributes food to people in need within the community. For this volunteer event, we'll be working the frontlines helping distribute bags of fresh produce to to the community of Concord, CA.

Food Bank of Contra Costa-Food Packaging
What: The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano stores and distributes food to people in need through direct distribution. For this volunteer event, we'll be helping sort fruits and vegetables in their food bank warehouse.

Kids Against Hunger
What: Kids Against Hunger Bay Area packages and ships highly nutritious, life-saving meals to starving and malnourished children in developing countries and in disaster situations, as well as feeding hungry children in the United States.
For this event, HIA will be packaging food for Ukrainian refugees.

LA Ronald McDonald House
What: We delivered hot meals to everyone in the LA Ronald McDonald house.
When: December 13, 2020 @12pm PT
Where: Los Angeles, CA
Description: The Ronald McDonald House provides a safe, affordable “home-away-from-home” to families of seriously or chronically ill or injured children who are being treated at area hospitals.
The House is a place where families can stay together and receive the kind of special care they need at such difficult times. Families find a bit of comfort and peace and a hot evening meal after a long day at the Hospital.
